Zack Lanier grown HacKid (pronounced "hacked" I am told) to podcast last night and I just realized I didn't even wrote a post on the subject. my friend Chris Hoff, aka @ glass is one of the main organizers and Zach, Committee, and it looks like it's going to be the start of something that every bet as a fresh and original as BSides, except this time, he will have kids, not a bunch of security professionals who angsty, feel that they have not been adequately represented at Black Hat (I'm teasing, if it is not immediately obvious)
My kids were little geeks that are similar to many of your children is likely. They wake up in the morning and hop online and start playing for DSi, or just pick up a book and reading. Creation and science illustrated their favorite magazines. And some fool for Japanese (is there any other kind?) anime couple of years ago. of the Convention in order to teach them how the Internet works, how to stay safe online and building robots really appeals to them.Add to it that the Convention takes place in the heart of Microsoft NERD and MIT just down the street and you have something that budding geeks find unresistable.
If you are on the East Coast is nowhere near Boston, among children aged 5 to 17 years, think about taking their HacKid in October. keep in mind that every young person should be accompanied by an old man (read: adult guardian), but that each of those classes is likely to have almost as much to teach adults how they do children. anything done on a voluntary basis, and this event is organized as a non-profit, so money is ever going to be a good thing but hurry if you're going to register, cost goes up from $ 50 to $ 75 each next week.
